Images from around the Loire Valley

Chateau Chenonceau - one of the best known Chateau in the Loire Valley. The Chateau spans the Cher, but the grounds and gardens stretch for acres around. We also visited Chevenny, which is a more traditional 'house' style of Chateau, and still a working vineyard. It was a wine from here that Justine and I drank at the pub across the river from our house, and was probably our favourite gastronomic experience of the stay. So far, anyway.






St Aignan Sur Cher - literally, the town of St Aignan on the river Le Cher. It was founded in the 9th century, before more modern contraptions in the form of 10th and 12th century constructions kind of ruined the 'olde worlde' feel of the joint...
